Eduardo Vargas Luna

Hello friends, my name is Eduardo, and this is my story. I was born on February 16th, and I am 33 years old. When not guiding passengers to their destinations, I like to play soccer and spend time with my family. They are my engine and motivation to move forward and fulfill my goals.

The languages I am fluent in are: English, Spanish, and Quechua, the official language of the Incas. Learning the Quechua language is very important because we will constantly be in communication with the native people of the communities to learn about their history.

I chose to be a tour guide because I am passionate about traveling and meeting many people; also, providing information about an important place and making my culture known so that they can understand the value of it. More than a profession, being a guide is my passion, and every day fills me with pride.

I have been a guide for about three years, and I am very happy. Although, as every beginning is not easy, I remember that in one of my first experiences as a guide, I had to help a passenger due to lack of oxygen and finally help him to reach his destination. Therefore, guiding for me is to lead, to undertake, to explain each place to visit that one already has the experience of knowing and taking care of each of the people in my charge.

Of all the routes I have traveled, I consider that I have more experience in the amazing Salkantay, Inca Jungle, Huchuy Qosqo, and Waqrapukara trail. All of them have something peculiar, but the place that has impacted me the most is the famous Temple of the Moon, also known as "the great cavern," located on Huayna Picchu mountain. Inside, you can find the construction of a natural cave made of finely carved lithic structures. If you go to Machu Picchu, you must visit this temple!
