CLETO RICARDO BEIZAGA TEJADA

Hi guys, my name is Ricardo. I was born on June 13, 1989, and the biggest inspiration I have in life is my family. In my free time, I like to go biking and the languages I speak are English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Quechua.

I chose to study the professional career of tourism because it gives me the opportunity to learn about our culture from its history, archeology and landscapes of the beautiful city of Cusco. Guiding for me is sensational, more than a profession, it is a real pleasure to share the incredible history of our ancestors with the world.

Once, I had the experience of having a passenger who, due to altitude sickness, suffered a pre-infarction; I immediately provided him with oxygen and evacuated him on horseback to the lowest part of the route so that he could return to Cusco. It is a great anecdote that I will always remember, because I received the gratitude of the passenger who, by the way, did not know that he suffered from heart problems. This is the great work of the guide, not only to share history, but also to ensure the safety of the passengers.

During the 7 years that I have been practicing this incredible profession, I have known all the routes; Salkantay, Ausangate, Inca Trail, Inca Jungle, Choquequirao, among others, and I feel fortunate to discover more places. Outside of our diverse Peru, Iguazu Falls are the destination that has impacted me the most. I will always be grateful to the Salkantay Trekking family for giving me the opportunity to be part of their staff and I hope they continue to grow as the best travel agency.
