We understand how important a nutritious and hearty meal is after a challenging day of trekking. You need to warm up and recover all those burned calories. That’s why we have cooks who have several years of experience in mountain cooking and extensive knowledge of ingredients and nutrition. In this way, they provide a variety of food with the freshest and most delicious ingredients from the region.
Each year, Salkantay Trekking organizes training for our chefs to educate themselves, develop their skills and create authentic dishes around the mountains. An expert in Andean nutrition prepares our menus. Many local dishes prepared on the route contain protein and carbohydrates, perfect for consumption after trekking.
Each chef works magic with the foods they have available on the route, as well as using their own family recipes to make the most delicious options. On our trips, you can be sure you'll be well fed with recipes tested from generation to generation.
