COMMITTED TO THE ERADICATION OF ESNNA IN TOURISM
At Salkantay Trekking, we are fully committed to the Code of Conduct against the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA) because we understand that providing high-quality and reliable tourism services not only means exceeding our clients’ expectations, but also acting with social responsibility and sustainability in every destination where we operate.
In accordance with Law No. 28251 and the national policy promoted by MINCETUR, we have established transparent and responsible standards of conduct to prevent, reject, and report any form of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents that could be associated with the tourism services we provide. In this way, we actively contribute to our sector's efforts in the fight against this crime and reaffirm our commitment to ethical, safe, and human dignity–oriented tourism.
CONTEXT OF ESNNA IN PERU AND TOURISM
In Peru, the Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESNNA) remains a persistent social problem. In 2024, 1,762 victims of crimes against human dignity were registered, of which 692 were minors (39.3%). In the Loreto region, out of 126 identified victims, nearly 70% were children and adolescents.
ESNNA is a social issue that can occur across different sectors, including tourism. For this reason, companies, authorities, communities, and travelers share the responsibility of ensuring that tourism in Peru is safe, ethical, and beneficial for everyone.

What makes these trips different?
We believe that a vacation should be more than a hotel room, a flight and a rental car. It should be more than the sum of its parts. We also believe a challenge can help you grow and a trip can stir the soul. We create journeys worth taking - for the traveler, for the host and for the world.
