According to the Ministry of External Commerce and Tourism in Peru, this achievement is thanks to a series of specialized promotion campaigns in this Gallic country.
Peru will set a new record high this year. This was confirmed by the Commercial Office of Peru in Paris (OCEX Paris) which expects that more than 100,000 French tourists will have visited our country by the end of 2018. This represents an increase of about 4% compared to 2017, when 96,283 visitors arrived.
“The growth of French tourism in our country is the result of an aggressive promotion campaign in special fairs, roadshows, workshops and door to door training for tourism professionals, press tours, and familiarization trips and business periodicals for tour operators, among other activities”, explained Aldo Parodi, commercial economy counsel of OCEX Paris.
These declarations took place during the 40th Pr
ofessional Tourism Exhibition Top Resa of France (IFTM Top Resa) where Peru participated after 2 years of absence.

It also emphasized the beauty of the Amazon and diverse activities in solo travel, a form of tourism which has captured the attention of younger French tourists.
Various Peruvian companies, such as Inca Rail, Virreinal Hotel and many travel companies in Peru, participated as co-expositors in the Peruvian pavilion. Thanks to this exposition, business was secured for close to 12 million dollars.
