Salkantay Trekking: Commitment to quality
Salkantay Trekking was born in 2013 with the idea of transforming tourism in the Andes, offering authentic and sustainable experiences. Since then, we have worked to achieve excellence, setting new goals and surpassing ourselves year after year.
We are a local company from Cusco with the vision of becoming the leading company in sustainable adventure travel. We are very happy to have been nominated for the World Travel Awards in different categories, both nationally and internationally:
- South America’s Leading Tour Operator 2025
- South America’s Leading Adventure Tour Operator 2025
- South America’s Leading Green Tour Operator 2025
- Peru’s Leading Tour Operator 2025
Being nominated is not just a source of pride; it’s a reflection of our daily work, the love we feel for the mountains, and the commitment we have to every traveler who trusts us.
We have an incredible team passionate about adventure, the natural environment of Cusco, and the Andean culture. We want to share that passion with our travelers, showing them the best of the Andes through perfectly organized tours. We carefully plan our itineraries and meticulously select our staff so they can provide you with professionalism, warmth, and dedication every step of the way.
Our goal is to fulfill all your travel dreams. We want to provide you with the utmost comfort and safety, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Your only job will be to enjoy the wonders of Peru.
Each recognition drives us to keep fighting for what we believe in, to innovate, and to always strive to offer the best.

Environmental and social sustainability
At Salkantay Trekking, we love our land, the beautiful region of Cusco, and we always strive to care for the environment. We’re aware of the impact tourism has, both on the environment and on local communities. That’s why our goal is to ensure this impact is always positive, practicing responsible tourism in all the destinations where we operate.
A portion of our annual income is allocated to trail cleanup campaigns as well as the organization of social events benefiting the Andean communities.
Responsibility towards the environment
We know everything the environment does for us: it is an invaluable source of natural resources and gives us the beautiful trails we explore every day. The least we can do for nature is to care for and protect it. We promote eco-friendly practices, such as using reusable bottles and cloth bags, and responsible waste management in the mountains.
Responsibility towards local communities
Moreover, local communities have lived in these territories for centuries. They are the heart of the region and a living reflection of its culture. That’s why we believe it is essential to show them respect and support their way of life. We want to promote the economic development of local communities by creating job opportunities and building a more equitable future.
