- Step-ups: This exercise involves repeatedly stepping up and down from an elevated surface (like a bench or step). It mimics the motion of climbing inclines or stairs and primarily strengthens the quadriceps and glutes.
- Lunges: Take a big step forward, lower your hips until both knees form a 90° angle, then return to the starting position. This exercise improves strength, balance, and mobility in the legs and hips.
- Squats: With your feet shoulder-width apart, lower yourself as if sitting down, keeping your back straight and knees aligned with your feet. It works your entire lower body, especially your thighs and glutes, and helps build endurance for long hikes.
