If\nyou come here on vacation, you\u2019ll be going home with some amazing holiday\nsnaps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, did you know that Peru has its own array of photographers who work hard to capture their country and culture in a way that many find it hard to do? They show Peru in many different lights and tell a story as you look at the pictures they develop. So, just who are these people? Let\u2019s take a closer look. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-yoast-seo-table-of-contents yoast-table-of-contents anchor-links\"><ul><li><a href=\"#h-martin-chambi\" data-level=\"2\">Martin Chambi<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#h-mario-testino\" data-level=\"2\">Mario Testino<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#h-morgana-vargas-llosa\" data-level=\"2\">Morgana Vargas Llosa<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#h-atoq-ramon\" data-level=\"2\">Atoq Ramon<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#h-gihan-tubbeh\" data-level=\"2\">Gihan Tubbeh<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#h-mariano-vivanco\" data-level=\"2\">Mariano Vivanco<\/a><\/li><li><a href=\"#h-observe-their-artistic-talents\" data-level=\"2\">Observe Their Artistic Talents<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-martin-chambi\">Martin Chambi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This man is\nknown as the father of documentary photography in the country and was born a\nlong time ago, 1891, in Puno. He started his work after meeting 2 British\nphotographers that were working on taking pictures on a mining project at the\ntime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After\nlearning all the techniques he needed, he moved to Cusco where he began to make\nmoney taking photos of rich families. He soon got tired and started\nphotographing everyday life in the area and the rural parts of Cusco. Many Hollywood stars and even the Royal Family have posed for him, so that gives you an idea of just how sought after he is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\nwould like to see his work when you are in Peru, he has a permanent exhibition\nin a contemporary art museum in Barranco, Lima called MATE. You get to see\nplenty of his work as well as other international exhibits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"920\" height=\"613\" src=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/mario-testino-cristiano-ronaldo-photogaohers-peru.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3278\" style=\"width:920px;height:613px\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-morgana-vargas-llosa\">Morgana Vargas Llosa<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Morgana was actually born in Barcelona but is of Peruvian descent. Her father was famous writer Mario Vargas Llosa who won the Nobel Prize. Her career started working as a photojournalist for a well-known Spanish newspaper. She soon got to the frontlines of many world conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her works on Peru include her co-publishing a photo book called Mirame Lima, which shows 50 portraits of families across the country to give you an impression of the diverse ethnicities and cultures over Peru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"920\" height=\"613\" src=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/morgana-vargas-llosa-photographer-peru.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3279\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo by: El Periodico\/ Ricard Fadrique<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-atoq-ramon\">Atoq Ramon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This guy\u2019s\nreal name is Marco, but his nickname works really well for him considering how\nhe photographs images. It means fox in Quechua and he truly does have the\nabilities of one. Somehow, he always manages to capture photos in the most\ncrucial of times while putting himself in danger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was once badly injured during a protest due to a police officer shooting a pellet into his eye! He almost lost his vision. The photos themselves are actually often blurry, but show a strong contrast in colors and tend to be hiding a strong hidden message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work seems almost more like a dream and really sheds light on the human condition. He really likes to explore masculinity through his work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you live\nin London and want to see his work you can find it at the National Portrait\nGallery.
