Although it was shortlisted to compete for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Film, it ultimately did not receive a nomination. Through <strong>Good Friday<\/strong> to <strong>Easter Sunday<\/strong>, there is no sin in this village, so you can only imagine what will happen there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout everything that\u2019s going on, Salvador forms a relationship with one of the residents there who will try to persuade him to take her with him to the capital, <strong>Lima<\/strong>. It\u2019s about <em>Miguel<\/em>, a fisherman, and his pregnant wife. During the film, he gets caught in a love triangle with a homosexual man who arrives in town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The man drowns after a fight but keeps visiting Miguel at night. He meets <em>Natalia<\/em>, a wannabe actress, who becomes seduced with him after a while. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll see a lot of passion between the pair, but also a huge amount of jealousy that ends up with a lot of violence against women, physically and mentally. It tells the story of an elderly Indigenous couple living in isolation, abandoned high in the mountains. <em>Yana-Wara<\/em>, also filmed in Aymara, focuses on the tragic story of a young woman that led to her death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These two Peruvian movies faithfully represent the culture of the Andes, especially the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/blog\/puno-its-mysteries-and-the-islands-of-titicaca\/\"><strong>Aymara culture<\/strong><\/a> from the south of Peru.
