Many of them will have factory-made items on offer, but some provide their own <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/blog\/the-best-souvenirs-to-take-home-from-cusco\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">handmade<\/a><\/strong> pieces. Whenever possible we recommend buying from those who have made the items themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether it\nbe a piece of pottery or homemade chocolates, you will be putting money back\ninto the community and helping them grow in their venture. We\nwant to keep it looking its best so we need to keep trash off of the streets.\nYou won\u2019t find trash cans on every street corner so it\u2019s a good idea to keep a\nlittle bag with you to collect it until you get back to your hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s the same when you are on a <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">trek<\/a><\/strong> or visiting a historical site. Please keep any trash on your person until you are able to dispose of it correctly. If you\u2019re craving it, then go ahead. But, whenever possible,\nvisit the local restaurants run by people from the area and try their delights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only will you get to try some exotic new dishes and the unique <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/blog\/peruvian-plates-you-must-try-celebrate-peruvian-gastronomy-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Peruvian flavors<\/a><\/strong>, but you\u2019ll also be supporting the local community. But it\u2019s always a good\nidea to ask a person if you can take a photo before you do.
