That\u2019s an excellent accomplishment to\nsay the least. These were \u2018The Best Cultural Destination in South America\u2019 and \u2018The Best Tourist Attraction at a Global Level\u2019, for the incredible <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/machu-picchu-tours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Machu Picchu<\/a><\/strong>. Let\u2019s look at why Peru has done so well and what it has to offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-best-culinary-destination\">Best Culinary Destination<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s no doubt as to why Peru keeps coming out on top of the gastronomical world. It\u2019s a country with huge bio-diversity and enjoys a lot of micro-climates. This means that they can grow a huge array of ingredients and that they always have fresh supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the top restaurants grow their own produce and fuse flavors together to create some incredible dishes. Peru boasts a wide variety of seeds, tuberculous, root veggies, fruits, and Andean cereals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are in Lima, you must make sure that you try the fresh seafood as the national plate of \u2018<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/blog\/peruvian-plates-you-must-try-celebrate-peruvian-gastronomy-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">ceviche<\/a><\/strong>\u2019 is one of the freshest meals you\u2019ll likely ever have. The magic of the Incan culture really fills you and you feel reenergized when you leave. If you get to visit the\ncity of Cusco, you\u2019ll see that almost every day they are celebrating something\nwhether it be a saint or religious celebration, a special dance, or one of the\nIncan traditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many of the ancient traditions are kept alive today and a lot of the locals in the mountains still believe deeply in the mother earth (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.salkantaytrekking.com\/blog\/pachamama-ceremonies-offerings-rituals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Pachamama<\/a><\/strong>) like their ancestors did.
